After several days, countless phone calls from loved ones wanting to hear “how he asked!” and way too much time on Pinterest, Kendall and Matthias began discussing the big picture of their wedding. Each set of parents agreed to chip in a certain amount of money, so the budget for the wedding, and rehearsal dinner were set. Now it was time to begin planning the wedding of their dreams.  FYI – to see how to come up with a wedding budget visit this blog post.

First on their to-do-list…find a wedding venue. Kendall had always wanted to get married in a backyard setting…and always envisioned lots of string lights! Matthias didn’t have a preference.

Luckily for them, Kendall’s parents recently moved to a quaint seaside town in Connecticut. They searched several venues that could have worked for their backyard setting, but they ultimately decided on a beautiful beachside club. The club had a peninsula that was picturesque. Suddenly saying their vows near the water seemed right. They reserved the beach club for the wedding ceremony, and decided to party in her parent’s backyard underneath the string lights Kendall had envisioned.
