If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should do a first look with your fiancé, this post has just the answers you’re looking for..

Traditionally, it is thought to be bad luck for the groom to see his bride before the wedding.

However, we think that doing a first look can be really special.

A first look is a special time set aside for you and your fiancé to meet before the ceremony.

It can be just you and your partner, or you can have your bridal party in the background. It’s totally up to you!

Here’s why we think you should go for a first look:

1. Share a special moment together

Your wedding day can be pretty hectic. Between getting ready, taking photos with your bridal party, maybe even traveling to your ceremony site, it can feel like you hardly spend time with your partner.

Even after you say your “I Do’s” the bustle doesn’t stop! You move from the ceremony site to your reception, you try to spend time with your guests, you take more pictures, you quickly chow down some food and before you know it the day is over.

Doing a first look with your fiancé can be a special moment spent with just the two of you.

You get to really soak in seeing your groom in his snazzy suit and showing off your wedding gown to him, your best friend.

Plus, it’s a super great photo op that will capture both of your excitement, love, and happiness.

2. Spend more time with your guests

Speaking of time…

Doing a first look is a great idea because it will allow you to spend more time with your guests as well.

Instead of having to wait to take the majority of your wedding pictures until after the ceremony, you can take them BEFORE.

That way, once your ceremony is over you can head straight to the reception to celebrate with your guests instead of making them wait…and starve.

3. Ease your nerves

The thought of walking down the aisle can be a bit daunting. Sure, your best friend waits at the end, but you’ve likely not seen them since at least the evening before.

It’s no wonder your nerves are through the roof.

Save yourself the stress by doing a first look.

This will do wonders for your nerves, which in turn will help you to be present in the moment and soak it all in.

4. Save yourself from any mishaps

Not only will it help ease your nerves, but it will also take away the stress of trying to avoid each other.

It’s kind of ironic, isn’t it?

You’re getting married and yet you’re avoiding each other like the plague all day before the ceremony?

If you choose to do a first look, you won’t need anyone standing guard or checking the hallway before you come out of the room or worse stay confined to the same small space all morning.

Could you imagine how upsetting it would be to try so hard not to see each other then accidentally cross paths?

Don’t put that stress on yourself and do a first look! After all, the point is to literally LOOK at each other!

5. It can be HILARIOUS

I mean, come on! It doesn’t get much better than this!

Will you be doing a first look at your wedding?
